Kym Copeland One of the Faces of Credit Unions

Kym Copeland, Sr. Business Development Officer at New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union, is dedicated to upholding the organization’s philosophy of “People Helping People”.

“New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union is committed to evolving and meeting individuals where they are on their path to financial success,” says Kym. “To better support our members, we created the Financial Inclusion Department—a team of financial first responders dedicated to helping members improve credit scores, optimize budgets, and reach savings goals, all at no cost.”

With a background in retail management, Kym relocated from Atlanta, looking for a career change and new challenges. Twenty-six years later, she found her calling working with the NOFFCU, serving over 28,000 members and more than 400 business partners across Louisiana and Mississippi.

“At NOFFCU, we also collaborate with nonprofits to expand awareness of our services and provide resources to those who need them most,” says Kym. “Our passion remains unwavering: to serve the underserved and underbanked with exceptional products, services, and member support.”

Outside work, Kym loves traveling, meeting new people, and watching a good movie. I’m also active in my local church and volunteer with Second Harvest Food Bank and New Orleans Mission.
