Donald T. Bock Scholarship Program
Firemen’s Federal Credit Union is committed to giving back to our community, and that includes supporting educational goals and lifelong learning. Every year, we give away $10,000 in scholarships to graduating high school seniors and first-year college students who are members of the credit union.
Investing in the next generation
Our annual scholarship program is designed to help our ambitious young credit union members advance into the leadership of tomorrow, named in honor of beloved firefighter and Firemen’s Federal champion, Donald T. Bock.
Firemen’s Federal Credit Union provides one of our student members at each branch the opportunity to receive a $1,000 scholarship for tuition made payable to the school of choice for the fall semester. Deadlines to apply are announced in the spring each year.

We are not currently accepting scholarship applications. Check back in the spring for updates on when you can apply for our next round of scholarships.
Eligibility requirements
Be a Firemen’s Federal Credit Union member.
Graduating high school senior or college freshman attending a university or community college at the time of the application submission.
Two (2) signed letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a teacher or school administrator.
How to apply
Answer the essay questions listed below; each answer should be limited to 200 words or less.
Include all required attachments. Any application packet received without all required attachments will be disqualified.
Send all materials to our mailing address. Entries postmarked after the deadline will be ineligible.
Remembering Donald T. Bock
Donald Thomas Bock (September 22, 1935 – September 14, 2020) was a Korean War veteran, firefighter for the New Orleans Fire Department, and passionate volunteer in his community. Beloved by his large family and many friends, he was also an original board member and longtime president of the New Orleans Firemen's Federal Credit Union, where he was honored as Volunteer of the Year by the National Association of Federally Insured Credit Unions.
He lived his life with dignity, honor and integrity. This scholarship bears his name as a promise: that the same spirit of service he embodied will continue to open doors for the ambitious young members of our community.
