Donald T. Bock Scholarship Program

Our Education Grant Program is designed to help our ambitious young credit union members advance into the leadership of tomorrow. New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union will provide nine of our student members the opportunity to receive a $1,000 grant for tuition made payable to the school of choice for the 2022 Fall Semester. One grant will be awarded to a student member from each of the following eligible branches: Metairie, Slidell, Westbank (New Orleans), St. James, Mandeville, Picayune, Lockport, Mid-City (New Orleans), and Bogalusa. Limit one grant per member; prior grant recipients are not eligible to reapply.



Eligibility Requirements


To be eligible to enter the Reaching New Heights Education Grant Program, applicants must
meet all of the following criteria:

  1. Be a Firemen’s Federal Credit Union member.
  2. Graduating high school senior or college freshman enrolling full-time in a two or four-year accredited college.
  3. A complete and official transcript of grades and ACT/SAT scores must be submitted from the school in a sealed envelope. Online transcripts and grade reports are not acceptable.
  4. Two (2) signed letters of recommendation. At least one letter must be from a teacher or school administrator. Each letter must have the reference’s name, address, and phone number. Reference must include the length of time the reference has known the applicant and in what context.



Instructions to Enter


  • Complete the application on the reverse of this brochure in its entirety.
  • Type or print neatly. Attach a separate sheet if more space is needed.
  • Answer the three essay questions listed below; each answer should be limited to 200 words or less.
  • Include all required attachments. Any application packet received without all required attachments will be disqualified.
  • Send all materials (postmarked on or before March 26, 2022) to the address below. Entries postmarked after this date will be ineligible.

Recipient & Award Presentation

Recipients will be notified by April 25, 2022. Award presentation will be announced to recipients at that time.
