Firemen’s Federal Credit Union is one of the oldest federally chartered credit unions in the country, founded by New Orleans firefighters who wanted to help each other and their families. We were built to serve, not make a profit.

Firemen’s Federal Credit Union offers all the accounts and loans you need but without all the extra fees and hassle you’ll find elsewhere. We’re a not-for-profit financial institution dedicated to serving our friends and neighbors for nearly a century.

You don’t have to be a firefighter to join us. We welcome people from all walks of life, and we proudly serve more than 28,000 members across 10 branches in Louisiana and Mississippi.

Judy DeLucca, President and CEO

At Firemen’s Federal since 1980, CEO since 1989

During her half-century career, Judy DeLucca has led Firemen’s Federal Credit Union to become a national model for financial inclusion and community development. She and her team have pioneered programs that have changed lives and saved members millions of dollars.

Today, 70% of our loan portfolio serves low-to-moderate income families, meaning we put our efforts where they make the biggest impact.

We serve thousands of families across Louisiana and Mississippi, providing fair and honest financial services, education and support.

Financial first responders

After Hurricane Katrina, we were one of the first institutions to reopen and now provide a national best-practice model for credit union disaster resilience and recovery.

Financial inclusion

Our Financial Inclusion Team (FIT) creates plans to help members improve their finances, with participants seeing an average credit score increase of 30 points.

Payday loan alternatives

Through programs like Ride Smart and The Faith Fund, we’ve saved members millions in fees and interest, and helped them get out of the cycle of never-ending debt.

Veterans support

We participate in the Veterans Benefits Banking Program to help ensure veterans and their families have access to the benefits they’ve earned and the support they deserve.
