Firemen’s Federal and West Jefferson Agree to Merge

The Boards of Directors of New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union and West Jefferson Federal Credit Union have agreed to merge financial institutions under the New Orleans Firemen’s Federal Credit Union brand. The combined credit union will have over $250 million in assets, ten branch locations, and approximately 28,000 members.

“Our membership will thrive as a result of this partnership. We are excited to provide increased accessibility, benefits, and digital services to our membership. At this time when we see more everyday challenges and uncertainties than ever before, it is more important than ever to make available strong financial solutions to our members for their continued success,” said Gail Bruce, Board Chairperson of West Jefferson.

“We are honored to have the opportunity to serve these members. Firemen’s Federal lives by the original philosophy of people helping people. Bringing our two credit unions together allows for greater opportunities for financial wellness and empowerment. We are excited to welcome West Jefferson into our Firemen’s Federal family and share our resources with their membership,” said Joseph Jurisich, Board Chairperson of Firemen’s Federal.
