System Support Specialist

This position is responsible for the operation and maintenance of in-house computer systems and for assisting the IT Director and IT Manager.  Will maintain, order, and install computer equipment to ensure a smooth operating environment. Monitors the operation of the computer system, and resolves problems or reports malfunctions to service representatives.  Provides technical assistance as required.  Maintains computer hardware and inventories computer supplies.  Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots basic PC hardware and software; resolves user and system problems.  Performs broad systems administration and technical support for both stand-alone PC hardware and software and local area networks.  Monitors system production to ensure compliance and quality.  Works closely with IT Management to ensure all computer systems are operational and available throughout the credit union.  Maintains contact with the IT department managers to ensure that the computer systems are meeting the needs of the entire credit union.

A minimum of 3 years of IT related experience is required for this position.  Applicants should have an Associate Degree in Computer Science or related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and experience.  Knowledge of business software applications and all related computer hardware is required.  A strong understanding of Credit Union operations and information output needs is also helpful, as is a knowledge of Fiserv XP2.
